Judge the door in the room it will live in, at the time of day you use that room most, and against your actual flooring rather than a showroom floor. Painted whites and soft greys have held for decades and hide dust well. Very dark painted doors show every fingerprint on the handle side. Stained wood grain hides wear better than any paint and is the safer choice in a household with children or dogs. High gloss looks superb on day one and shows every smear after that.
