How long does countertop fabrication and installation take?

Plan on two to three weeks between templating and installation for most kitchens. Templating happens once the cabinets are set and level, because the template is cut to the cabinets as built rather than as drawn. Fabrication is usually seven to ten working days. Installation itself is a single day for a normal kitchen, and the sink and hob go in the same day or the day after. The sequence is worth knowing because it is the part of a kitchen renovation that cannot be compressed by adding people.
